Originally trained and certified in Northern California, Janine, and her husband Greg, have owned North Austin Massage Therapy since 1984. Janine received her Pfrimmer Deep Muscle Therapy (PDMT) training at the Pennsylvania School of Muscle Therapy in 1994, and was personally mentored by Victoria Ross, one of the two Master Pfrimmer Instructors in the world. Janine is a Texas State Certified Massage Therapy Instructor, and is the only Certified Pfrimmer Deep Muscle Therapy Instructor in the State of Texas.

Because of her passion for the work and her desire to train other therapists in learning how to deal with serious muscle conditions, Pfrimmer training is now being offered through the Continuing Education Program at Austin Community College's Health Professions Institute and The Hands on School of Massage in Beaumont, Texas.

As the Secretary for the Therapeutic Bodyworkers of Austin in 1984-85, she was involved in the political process of creating the original Massage Therapy Registration Act of Texas. She served as the Central Texas Regional Director of the Texas Association of Massage Therapists (TAMT) and on the Texas Legislative Coalition for Massage Therapy, and she is also a member of the Texas Coalition of Massage Schools and Instructors. She currently serves as the Legislative Chairperson of the TAMT and was active during the 79th Legislative session during passing of HB2696 by Rep. Anchia in 2005.

Janine has published articles in MassageToday.com and has been interviewed by ABMP and Massage Magazine. She has been invited to be a presenter for PDMT at the TAMT Conventions and by the Panhandle Association of Massage Therapists. As a Certified Personal Trainer and a Nationally Certified Bodyworker, Janine has had much success specializing in Pain Relief and Injury Rehabilitation in her clinic in Northwest Austin, along with 9 other advanced therapists. Along with PDMT the clinic offers CranioSacral Therapy, Critz Technique™, Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release and Pre-Natal Massage.

Kendell Aaronson

As a native Texan, Kendell, has lived in Austin since 1979. She is a graduate of Lauterstein-Conway Massage School with training in Swedish, Deep and Sports Massage, CranioSacral Therapy and Advanced Structural Bodywork, and has been practicing massage therapy since 1998.

In July 2001, Kendell decided to specialize and received her certification in Pfrimmer Deep Muscle Therapy from Austin Community College and looks forward to continuing her work at NAMT.

In addition to being a massage therapist, she enjoys being an Aqua Fitness Instructor and a mother of two sons and a daughter.


Carmen Ackermann

A native German with a nursing degree specializing in Geriatric care, Carmen chose to become a Texan in 1999. Feeling called to change careers to Massage Therapy, she graduated from the Austin Community College's Massage Therapy program in 2004. Carmen is passionate in her new profession as she combines her diverse training in techniques of Swedish Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Progressive Neuromuscular Therapy, Swedish Relaxation and some Myofascial Release. In 2007 she was trained in Stone Massage Therapy and is now offering Healing Hot & Cold Stone sessions. Along with her home business, she has experienced working in injury rehabilitation at a chiropractic clinic, in several Austin Spas and doing Corporate Chair massages.

In her spare time she enjoys volunteering at various sporting events around Austin, such as the MS 150 Bike ride, Ride for the Roses, Danskin Triathlon, Free Scale Marathon, Capitol 10K, Shiner B.A.S.H. and lots of benefit events like the Austin American Heart Association Walk and the Spokes & Spurs Bike ride to support Children with Downs and Asperger Syndromes. She is happily married, loves to pamper everyone she knows, and providing for the health and well-being of her clients is her main concern. Of course she is fluent in German, but she also understands some Spanish, Dutch and Swiss.


Kimberly Corie

A 1996 graduate from John Brown University with her B.E. in Health and Physical Education, Kimberly has experience in teaching, coaching, and personal training. She worked as a Physical Therapy Technician in the local hospital while attending school. Having been an athlete most of her life, Kimberly developed an appreciation for massage and its amazing healing power for the body.

In 2000, she attended A New Beginning School of Massage in Austin, and began her massage career supplying chair massage to local businesses. A mother of two, Kimberly specializes in Swedish Deep Tissue Massage, Chair Massage, and Prenatal Massage Therapies.

Carmella married her high school friend of four years in December of 1995, just four months after graduating from Austin School of Massage Therapy. The following year, she went on to specialize in MyoFascial Release Therapy, receiving her training from the Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas. Before joining North Austin Massage Therapy, she managed her own business (Peace of Heaven) for six years.

She has volunteered her services for the National Weightlifting Competition in Shreveport, LA. and the March of Dimes benefit run. Carmella became a Pfrimmer Deep Muscle Therapist in April of 2002. She brings all this acquired knowledge to her massage table to aid in sports and injury rehabilitation as well as pain management and relief. Her hearts desire is to use her gifts and talents to lay hands on the sick to help them recover. (Mark 16:18)

Susan Rader, BA, RMT, PDMT

Sports, fitness, and injury rehabilitation have always been a big focus in Susan's life, so a B.A. in Exercise Physiology from the University of Texas fit right into the picture. This degree was a great foundation for the many opportunities to come her way. Susan has experience in personal training/exercise instruction, nutrition counseling, and coaching/teaching. Currently Susan also works with children with disabling conditions.

In 2000, Susan graduated from the Lauterstein-Conway Massage School. This training provided the beginning of a rewarding career in massage therapy. Susan has provided massage for Austin area sporting events, including the Motorola Marathon and the Danskin Triathlon. Some of Susan's volunteer activities include table massage for the Lance Armstrong Ride for the Roses and chair massage for the Ovarian Cancer Society. In order to learn more about injury prevention and rehabilitation, Susan recently received training in Pfrimmer Deep Muscle Therapy. Susan is also a Certified Prenatal and Postnatal Massage Therapist. The best part of her life is the role of "Mom" for two teenage boys.


Angela Pierce

Angela Pierce (Angie) delights in releasing the cause of your pain or discomfort as she seeks to improve your health through the power of soothing touch. Having earned her Bachelor of Science in biology from Stephen F. Austin State University, she worked as a Medical Laboratory Technologist in both hospital and clinical settings before taking a break to raise her two children. Her massage career began in 1999 and she completed the advanced program at the Lauterstein-Conway School of Massage Therapy in Austin in 2000. She operated a private practice in Chiropractic offices for six years. Angie specializes in CranioSacral Therapy (CST), Somatoemotional Release (SER) and Critz Technique™. Angie received her training in CST/SER through the Upledger Institute and has been an assistant instructor at their workshops. She has training in Oncology massage, and Angie gives an excellent relaxing Swedish or Swedish Deep Tissue massage as well.


Kim Myrick

Born and raised in Austin, Kim is a proud graduate of the University of Texas. Kim first experienced the peace and healing offered by massage while working in stressful corporate settings after college. Soon Kim decided that she wanted to be able to offer the same benefits to others, and pursued her dream of becoming a massage therapist. Kim is a graduate of the Lauterstein-Conway Massage School. She specializes in Swedish and is also a Certified Prenatal and Postnatal Massage Therapist.

In her free time, Kim enjoys painting and photography. Her husband Sam is a pastor in Austin and they just had their first child, a daughter named Ada.


Julie D. Lee

Although Julie is new to North Austin Massage Therapy, with 13 years experience, she is no stranger to massage therapy. She was originally trained at the Alexandria School of Scientific Therapeutics in Alexandria, Indiana. She also received her Pfrimmer Deep Muscle Therapy (PDMT) training there under the instruction of Ruthann Hobbs, one of the two Master Pfrimmer Instructors in the world. Though the foundation of her massage work is Pfrimmer, thanks to her overwhelming curiosity and thirst for knowledge, she has studied a wide variety of healing modalities and has amassed a treasure chest of healing tools. She has received training in CranioSacral Therapy, Healing Touch, Activated Isolated Stretching and Energetic Cranial Therapy under the instruction of Tom Shaver, D.O. The fact that Julie loves a challenge makes her particularly effective for athletes and people who have chronic issues.

Julie also holds a Masters degree in Social Work. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, she has worked in the field of human services for 25 years. She has dedicated her career to improving the lives of others, both physically and emotionally. This unique blend and varied experience enable her to assist clients from a holistic perspective with focus on the mind-body relationship. She truly has a healing spirit, which she gladly shares with her clients.
